
An ingredient’s been missing from your kitchen for way too long and we’d like to set that right. Presenting to you – Wise Monkey Rum, for anyone who’s ever thought “There’s very little Rum in this food”.
In our series of #WiseMonkeyInTheKitchen, we explore rum recipes that you can wind up to at the comfort of your home. These recipes also make for some great conversation starters at a party.
So, choose your vibe and cook up with Wise Monkey Rum.
This time, we chose to bring a rum-my twist to a classic breakfast/dessert option. Waffles with a generous drizzle of butter-rum sauce.
For the Waffles: –
1 egg 1
1/2 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
Method:
Beat the eggs and sugar then add the wet ingredients and mix that well.
Now add all the dry ingredients to make a batter that’s not too thick and not too thin.
Make waffles in the machine and serve with the sauce.
For the Wise Monkey Rum Sauce:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup raw sugar
1/2 cup cream
4-6 tbsp cafe rum
Method:
Heat butter and sugar.
Once the sugar melts add the rum
Once the alcohol has evaporated lower the flame and add the cream and stir vigorously and put the flame off.
Once cooled transfer in a bottle and serve over waffles, pancakes or icecream.
